Eat and drink to burn fat

While exercise plays an important role, burning fat isn't just about increasing your heart rate and strengthening muscles.

Of course you can. In fact, many people know that what you eat and drink is sometimes most important. The problem is that it is also the most difficult. While exercise plays an important role, burning fat isn’t just about increasing your heart rate and strengthening muscles. Here are some simple and easy ways to burn fat through what we choose to eat:

  • Eat clean. It’s no joke that fast food does NOT help you burn fat. So what should you eat? The easiest way to eat “clean” is to only eat foods made with 100 percent whole ingredients. Check what you eat and use common sense.
  • Eat enough fat. Wait, to lose fat you have to eat fat? It may seem strange, but the answer is yes. Your body requires fat to keep it functioning. The type you choose is essential. Lean towards good fat and not the usual fried or sweet stuff.
  • Drink green tea. If you are a tea lover, you will be happy to know that it has been found to be an important metabolism booster. What helps you lose weight.
  • Include enough iron in your diet. Iron allows your blood to carry more oxygen to all your cells, allowing for a healthy metabolism. Cabbage is an excellent source of iron.
  • Don’t skip breakfast. They say it is the most important meal of the day because it is what kick-starts your metabolism, gives you energy and prevents cravings. But what if you’re not a breakfast person? At least keep it simple and light, try some smoothies or yogurt etc.
  • Snack. You will likely slow down your metabolism and end up eating non-nutritious things if you don’t eat well at mealtime for snacks. Try to keep it light as well, eating poorly in the afternoon/night is almost as bad as skipping breakfast.
  • Avoid soda. You can’t argue with this. High sugar or fake sugar, it doesn’t matter. Recent research has found that even diet soda creates belly fat!
