Copy Experience September 3, 2018 No Comments Do you know any roast beef recipes? A few days ago, one of my patients asked me for a recipe to prepare on the weekend with her family. Then, I remembered this exquisite and simple recipe for roast beef with French onion gravy that I love to prepare because everyone likes it. I share it with you. Roast beef recipe Ingredients: • 1 kg of lean beef hip • 2 tablespoons of olive oil • 8 whole carrots • 1 branch of finely chopped coriander • 200 ml of white wine • 600 ml of beef broth • 2 bay leaves • 500 g of onion • Some sprigs of thyme • 1 teaspoon of butter • 1 teaspoon of muscovado sugar • 2 teaspoons of whole wheat flour Preparation:

  1. Heat the oven to 160ºC. Season the meat with olive oil and spices. Heat a saucepan and brown the meat for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, add 2 teaspoons of olive oil to a frying pan and brown the carrots and cilantro for 10 minutes.
  2. Transfer the meat to a plate, add the white wine to the saucepan and boil for 2 minutes. Add the beef broth, return the meat to the saucepan and add the carrots, cilantro and bay leaf. Do not submerge the carrots. Cover and bake for 2 hours (you can turn the meat after the first hour).
  3. While the meat is in the oven, slice the onions. Heat a tablespoon of oil in a frying pan and toss the onion with thyme and season. Cover and cook for 20 minutes until the onions are soft and translucent. Uncover, increase the heat and add the butter and sugar to caramelize the onions. Remove the thyme.
  4. When the meat is done, it will be soft and the edges will be easy to remove. Get it out of in a saucepan Reheat the onion pan, add the flour and cook for 1 minute. Beat or stir the onions to make a thick gravy. Taste for seasoning. Return the meat and carrots to the saucepan or slice the meat.
  5. Serve! This roast beef recipe serves four people, so prepare it and enjoy with your whole family. As a last recommendation, choose a flatter piece of meat. That is, it should be more round than tall so that it cooks faster and ensures that the entire piece is well cooked. Tell me if you liked it!
