There is a very simple way to combat bad eating habits, those cravings for fast or junk food, which make us gain weight, and it is by using the power of affirmations. We all have beliefs about ourselves, our lives, our diet, and our behavior around food. And these beliefs are not necessarily what is best for us to lead a healthy and healthy life. I, for example, used to believe that skipping dinner would help me lose weight.  but it wasn’t like that. So I changed my belief to “Eating healthy every meal will help me reach my goal of losing weight faster and easier.” Repeating this affirmation before each meal helped me make healthy choices. Then gradually I added more and more affirmations in my life to overcome my bad habits. Here are some examples of common beliefs that end up triggering our food cravings and how to turn them around to create a positive outcome. Belief: If I don’t eat now, I will eat more later. Affirmation:* I am making a choice, not a sacrifice. Belief: I deserve a cake after my hard day. Affirmation:* I deserve love and kindness, not calories. Belief: It’s a special occasion, I have to eat something special. Affirmation:** Special does not mean extra calories. Belief: I need to listen to my body and it wants fries. Affirmation:** What I want is not always what I need. Belief: I have been eating so well lately, so now I can have a cookie. Affirmation:** I feel good and I want to continue feeling great. Belief: It is not fair that other people can eat anything and not gain weight. Affirmation:* I need to eat what is right for me. Belief: I will eat now and burn those calories later. Affirmation:** I will exercise now, and have a snack later. You can also make your own affirmations that help you resist food cravings and lead a healthier life. Good luck changing your bad habits.
