Tips to prevent illnesses this winter

4 practical tips to protect yourself from diseases this winter.

Let’s continue with the best recommendations for the winter that is already coming. At this time of year it is very common for people to get sick from colds, coughs and other respiratory diseases.** Well, it happens to me. So I want to share here some tips that have been helping me over the past few years 🙂

  • Outdoors: When we feel cold, what we like to do most is stay at home, lock ourselves in and not go out. I don’t recommend being outside all day, but about 15 minutes is actually very healthy. Go out warmly, but leave your house even for a moment.
  • Water with heating: Something that I did not know and that is very obvious, is that having the temperature of your house or car very high helps to make you sick.** The recommended thing is to even keep yourself between 19 and 22 degrees!** The real option is rather to dress warmly.
  • Open the windows: It is very important to clean the air in the house. But don’t worry, you don’t need to do it for a long time and it’s very easy.** Simply opening the windows for about 10 minutes is enough to make the air circulate and clean a room.
  • Diet: In winter, spring and any season, eating healthy is essential to maintain good health. In winter, a diet high in vitamins and minerals is your best bet for preventing illness. Buy seasonal fruits and vegetables. Something very important, stay hydrated, this helps a lot in preventing diseases. As an extra, we also highly recommend approaching these plants to take advantage of their properties this season:
  • Eucalyptus: A very famous decongestant. You can make a tea and that’s it, but be careful, it is not recommended for people with asthma.
  • Mullaca: It must be cooked well and it becomes a good decongestant. For this you have to boil it for around 5 minutes.
  • Muña: Since it contains menthol, it helps a lot with decongestion. It can be combined with the other plants and it looks very good. With these tips you are more than ready to welcome winter without illnesses 🙂
