Tips to help you waste less!

It's ironic because we always teach our children not to waste and sometimes we don't realize it, but we are the ones who end up throwing away.

Something that happens more often than we would like is that, whether because we spoil something or we simply don’t like it, we throw away a lot of food.    It’s ironic because we always teach our children to not waste and sometimes we don’t realize it, but we are the ones who end up throwing away a lot. That’s why today we leave you some very good tips to avoid continuing to waste 🙂 Get the juice out of your fruits. – And I don’t mean to squeeze them (although it is not a bad option). You can freeze more fruits than you think if they are not eaten so quickly at home. Fruits such as grapes, plums, mangoes, pineapple, peaches and well, other red fruits. Help your refrigerator – Set your refrigerator temperature to 4.5 degrees or lower. This helps fresh foods retain their nutrients longer, preventing them from spoiling sooner. Be realistic about your time and energy – You have to ask yourself the question: How much time do I really have? And answer honestly. Not all of us like having to buy pre-made or cooked things and I understand that. But sometimes it is a better option than buying a bunch of food that we are NOT going to cook and that will only become waste. Bread – About 680,000 tons are thrown away each year in the United Kingdom alone. Do you remember frozen fruits? Well, bread can also be frozen without anything happening to it. Bread that becomes stale (as long as it doesn’t have fungus) can be fried with egg to make French bread. Or you can cut it into small pieces and put it in the oven with a little olive oil to make croutons 🙂 Now, this is perhaps a little more unorthodox and I recommend that if you are going to try this, do it very carefully! According to several sources, things like toast or tortilla chips, yogurt and even chocolate can be eaten after their expiration date. They recommend, for example, that you put the toast in an oven with oil to make it crispy again. Yogurt, they say you can remove the mold that has formed. And the white layer that appears on the surface of the chocolate. It’s a curious fact, but personally I would not recommend the yogurt and the chocolate would scare me, more than anything because they are dairy, but I don’t see a problem with the toast. Before trying this, check out more information or ask an expert!
