The difference between a diet and healthy eating
For that in this article we will clear up that doubt and talk about the difference between a diet and healthy eating....
Associating a diet with healthy eating is very common among people. They believe they eat healthy with a diet that apparently contains very light foods, but when a health consultant reviews this diet and compares what the patient needs, he or she comes to the conclusion that this person is simply not providing his or her body with all the nutrients it needs. All this based on studies and questions that are asked to the patient to learn more about their lifestyle and what they do. For that in this article we will clear up that doubt and talk about the difference between a diet and healthy eating. Because each one has a different purpose. Nutrition is understood as the biological process through which the body assimilates the food and liquids necessary for growth, functioning and maintenance of vital functions. Likewise, nutrition is known as the branch of medicine that deals with the study of the best relationship between food and liquids and health. Now, a diet refers to the set of food substances that make up the nutritional behavior of a living being. This word comes from the Greek díaita which means “way of life”. An example of a diet could be those followed by some animals. For example; carnivores, herbivores, omnivores, etc. A person’s diet could depend on different factors such as social, economic and cultural. It also has to do with the region where you live, the climate… In short, the availability of food. A person who needs iron in their body will not have the same diet as a person who needs healthy fats. And so depending on the needs. A current reference would be people who decide to convert their diet to one that consists only of vegetables (vegetarians). This can be achieved if you have information about the nutrients each vegetable provides. But in some cases it cannot be carried out. Well, the person could be in need of proteins that are only found in foods of animal origin. In conclusion, a diet is the way you eat or where the food scale leans or should lean. A healthy diet does not limit any nutrient. You can eat anything. As long as they measure the portions, they are aware of what foods are being consumed, in order to obtain a balance. With this we are not saying that diets have a negative impact. But a diet is not established just because. This must be proposed by a professional based on studies on the person, in order for them to obtain the nutrients that their body lacks and that they consume in small quantities. Think twice before entering a diet and ask yourself, is it really the diet that my body needs?
