Learn the story of how a patient became a Cambridge Weight Plan (CWP Coach) consultant. Another proof that you don’t need to be a professional nutritionist to help others with their diet. This is much more than a method to lose weight. Cambridge Weight Plan is a life changing plan. To become a CWP consultant requires two courses and a five-module online exam. But the process begins even before, when you become aware that your own benefit can benefit others. This is the case of CWP coach Laura Sánchez Aldama, originally from Torreón, Coahuila, but who has lived in Mexico City since 1998. Someone told him about this plan more than four years ago and things have changed a lot around him. Her two children were born and her life is substantially better than she expected. When she found out that she would face the adventure of being a mother alone and without a steady job, she felt like the world was falling apart. She had a job, a partner and a future she had imagined but all three things blurred. Overweight and without anyone to give her a chance due to her status as a single mother, Cambridge Weight Plan appeared. It all started when he searched the Internet for plans to combat being overweight and a few clicks later he found this way of life. He first did the training as a patient and saw results sooner than expected. With a child on the way and a body asking for nutrients, she thought it would be impossible to lose weight, but it wasn’t like that. And that gave energy to his life. When Diego, her son, began to walk, she took her first steps into the business. By then he had lost eight kilos, they both learned together to walk on new terrain and it was a way to connect with him. That is a testimony that she frequently gives as an example. “I saw my son trying to take his first steps, he moved one foot and then the other. He stumbled many times. Many before he could connect a sequence of seven or eight steps, which are the kilos I had lost and I took that as a revelation,” he says. Diego’s face told him everything. Knowing he was free, he was telling her with his effort that it doesn’t matter how many times he fell before. It was all worth it because now he was telling the world, in his red Elmo shoes: “Here I am.” She transmits this same emotion to those who come to her and ask for help to lose weight. Now Laura is a businesswoman who can be with her children Diego and Fernanda, the newest on the team; She is a businesswoman who moves around all day with an iPad and gives consultations and advice online. He didn’t need much, just the push and courage to dare to take his first steps.
