Alcohol and you in the new year
Alcohol is a much more harmful substance than many others that we generally believe are worse. It is one of the most addictive and toxic things we can do.
It’s probably going to be inevitable. And the truth is we are not against you doing it. Except when it is excessive. No matter how much they tell us, we don’t seem to understand it. Alcohol is a much more harmful substance than many others that we generally believe are worse. It is one of the most addictive and toxic things we can do. But it is a great social luxury. So, if you want to have better control of your drink this holiday season or simply learn how to drink a little more consciously, I leave you the ** best recommendations 🙂**
1. Have a glass of water for every drink.
Have you ever noticed how thirsty you are after a party?** Alcohol dehydrates and this can strongly affect our mental and physical performance. In addition to the water you normally need, drink an extra glass after each alcoholic drink.
2. Limits
More alcohol means more calories and the calories in alcoholic beverages have 0 nutrients. Enjoy your drink slowly and focus on limiting calories and hangover the next day.
3. On the rocks
Better avoid mixers and juicers. Instead, order your favorite liquor neat or on the rocks. Much less sugar.
4. Adds natural freshness
Get creative and add something fresh (lemon, lime, mint, basil, cucumber or berries) to your drink. Citrus fruits, herbs, and fruits make liquor and wine taste richer without adding extra calories or sugar.
5. Do not take on an empty stomach
Always eat something before drinking. Drinking on an empty stomach makes you hit faster and that intoxication often leads to more drinking or mindless eating. Eat a good healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner before going out, all to slow the absorption of alcohol.
