To change your body and stop being overweight, you must first change your mind. When we are in front of the scale we may think that our body must change and that we must go to the website and look for how to lose weight quickly, but there is a previous step and it has to do with the mentality. There is no project that has a chance of success if we are not convinced that we will achieve it. This applies to all levels and is a matter of conscience. Losing weight quickly is like trying to embark on a path without having any idea where we are going. We cannot simply start taking steps, we must first know where we are going and how we will get there. This is much more difficult the more overweight we become. That’s what I mean by having clarity in your objectives. If you want to achieve your health goals, you need a long-range strategy in your health and nutrition. The path to forgetting about obesity will not be easy and you know it, but once you go one step, you will see that the rest is a matter of inertia. It’s just a matter of keeping trying. Below I leave you 3 steps to change your mentality.
Step 1: Look for behaviors, not results
If you think that you want to have a body to compete in, that’s fine, but if you think that you will stop eating dessert every day, you will have a behavioral change that, beyond the ideal, will translate into results. There is nothing wrong with wanting to look good, the only thing wrong is just wanting it and not doing anything with your diet to achieve it. Changing behavior will bear fruit, while simply “wanting” may only lead to frustration. This is a mission of perseverance and regularity rather than desires and dreams.
Step 2: Focus on small goals
Changes do not come alone and there will always be resistance to them. When these are imposed, your natural reaction will be opposition. When you are on a weight loss plan, it is normal that you feel like you are failing at first and that is why doctors advise going step by step and repeating over and over again what works for you. When you master a step, you find the confidence to continue searching for more ground.
Step 3: Look for performance
If you are going on a long trip, it is better to choose a vehicle that gives us fuel efficiency. One that is fast or capable of carrying a large load will be of little use to us if the goal is to go far. This is how it works with objectives. If you have already found that sugar particularly affects you due to diabetes and you are weak with desserts, then the best thing to do would be to simply stay away from them and tell your consultant so that they can both take the necessary measures. On this path you are not alone, but a large part only depends on you and the mental clarity you have to know that it is time to act in favor of your body. Once you have the objectives, you will see that the goal looks closer.
